Near-Death Experience
Definition
An experience of consciousness during a close brush with death or clinical death (an NDE). In Dr. Pim van Lommel’s studies since 1988, about 18% of cardiac arrest survivors remember one. Experiencers often don’t feel safe telling doctors, mental health providers, clergy or even family, for fear of being called “crazy”, and many find their lives radically transformed afterward.
