For those who have experienced a transpersonal or spiritual awakening, it can be difficult to come back to living in the day-to-day world. All of a sudden, you may be faced with challenges such as anxiety, depression, despair, the Dark Night of the Soul, and a multitude of other energetic and spiritual imbalances. Living in a Quantum Reality helps to identify the common side effects of wholeness consciousness and offers a variety of exercises, meditations, and healing methods to cope with having a higher consciousness in a world that is still struggling to catch up.
Living in a Quantum Reality helps you understand your “impossible” transpersonal experiences by integrating quantum physics into psychology and offering a user-friendly description of the many layers or spheres of energy and consciousness. This vision of the quantum self synthesizes spiritual thought with an array of scientific disciplines and is supported by my own direct experiences, as well as my clients’ experiences with larger reality.
This book is a step toward advancing the field of psychology, and especially the practice of psychotherapy, to catch up with the latest, more quantum, worldview, one that is more comprehensive for understanding the reaches of our human consciousness and psycho-spiritual experiences.

Why I Wrote the Book
Clients have often asked me, “Where can I read about this stuff that we’ve talked about?” And, I would have to point them to a number of books, or say there isn’t a book out there…yet.
Lynne McTaggart’s The Field, and Michael Talbot’s The Holographic Universe have always been two books I’ve recommended for those seeking a more beginner introduction for the findings in quantum physics that are helpful for describing trans-personal experiences. The beyond-the-personal experiences in consciousness that my clients and I have had, but which are supposedly “impossible” because they defy conventional theories tied down to time and space.
For Those Who Crave Deeply
For clients who have craved deeply scientific readings (they are few…maybe only two in nine years), I have recommended Dr. Claude Swanson’s Life Force: The Scientific Basis, and Dr. Jim Oschman’s Energy Medicine: The Scientific Basis. And, I would love for them to read Dr. Robert Becker’s The Body Electric, or books by Dr. Amit Goswami, Dr. William Tiller, Dr. Valerie Hunt, and many more. But they just don’t find these books soulful beach reading like I do!
Also, there are books out there about love, and many which take a spiritual approach or may be based on ancient wisdom traditions, but I haven’t found any that try to describe love as an energy in the way quantum physics may be able to help us understand love. To me, love is the energy that spirals us all together as one collective field of souls. Love is the field…I say the very field we call the quantum field of potentiality, the quantum vacuum, or the field of quantum consciousness…the field of consciousness as a whole, the one that unifies heaven and earth, and synthesizes that which is not material and beyond time and space with that which is material and appearing as time and space. As a field, love is what we tap into when we find the sense of Wholeness within us, connected Presence, and what we access to find healing. All healing is a re-turn to connection, to Wholeness consciousness and love. For love is who we are, at our very core essence that we call energy and consciousness. This book is paving the way for me to write more about that next.
I present a Consciousness Map
I wanted to write a book that gives the reader a “CliffsNotes” version (chapter one) of what quantum physicists are saying about the many energies that seem correlated with time and space, such as electromagnetism, and those, like torsion fields, which seem correlated with “spooky action at a distance” and nonlocal effects. And, I wanted to relate that, as I do with my clients, to who we are as human beings, and the multitude of dimensions of consciousness (chapter two) to which we have access. So that, when my clients have experiences they can’t explain to the satisfaction of their left brain, they can read this book and understand the many layers or spheres of energy to which they indeed have access.
After the first chapter on energy and consciousness, I present a Consciousness Map in chapter two that describes the seven major spheres of consciousness of the “quantum self”, as Dr. Amit Goswami has described our multidimensional self that goes way beyond the usual experiences of self that we call body, emotions and mind. In this map I integrate what we know about both the personal self that many refer to as the personality or ego self, and the transpersonal or spiritual self, using what we know from Eastern and Western psychology, consciousness studies, and more. From this map, we can come to know where we are in consciousness at any given moment, looking at our present values, layers of intelligence in use, what makes us happy, and so forth. And, we can see which aspects of self are out of balance and in need of alignment, and the direction for us to take along those lines.
You Are Not Alone
The rest of the book is about the many “side effects” of experiencing aspects of quantum consciousness, or Wholeness consciousness, that lead the experiencer to struggle in their day-to-day life surrounded by those who have not had such an “awakening” to the ways of higher consciousness love. Based on my experiences helping clients in private practice since 2006, Living in a Quantum Reality offers at least some initial actions to take and a few tools to cope, as well as understanding that these are issues commonly faced by those who have awakened.
I want you to know that you are not alone, and that awakening is happening in perhaps 20-30% of us today, based on what I gathered in a recent Pew survey. This is much higher than the 1-3% that I was told when I was in my twenties. And it is reason to rejoice, to “hold steady your light”, and to continue spreading your love so that together we can ignite the next quantum leap in love!
